Growing up the 90’s, Alternative Rock and Pop are very prevalent influences in Will Sims’ various works. Bands such as Matchbox Twenty, Goo Goo Dolls, and Oasis were very impactful and led to very relatable and and catchy ballads.

You Have a Voice, Use It’ is the latest release from Will Sims. A collection of the most beautiful and raw energetic songs he has released yet. This record features some of the heaviest rock songs and heartwarming ballads Will Sims has written yet.

Recorded at Seventh Wave Records in Palmyra, PA and mixed and mastered at The Deep End Studio in Middle River, MD, these tracks feature huge drums, intense guitar riffs, powerful vocals, and driving melodies.   ‘Lose Control’ features driving basslines and interwoven guitar riffs. ‘Fears’ is a building ballad that starts with intimate singing and acoustic guitar and builds to a soaring ending. ‘Where Are You Now?’ closes the record with ethereal guitar, and evolves and builds to an intense ending.

Will Sims’ writing generally features themes of romantic and social relationships and ‘You Have a Voice, Use It’ features themes of regret, distrust, mental health, imposter syndrome, and finding meaning in your life. ‘Fears’ is a heartwarming song about finding someone who takes all of your worries away, while ‘Move It or Lose It’ deals with living life on the edge and the repercussions of the lifestyle of a rockstar. ‘What Are You Doing?’ is a challenge against the growing dependence on social media and lack of socialization. Anger and frustration fuel this record with songs like ‘I Should Never Have Given Up on You’ exist to inspire hope and reflection of one’s own actions and having the desire to grow.
